Wild Guns is an online browser based game created by the developers at Gameforge. It features empire building and combat that takes place in the Wild West.
Wild Guns Features
When you join Wild Guns you can play as the Cowboys, Indians or Mexicans. Each side has its own unique troop types for you to build. You start with an empty village and over time it will grow into a thriving town as you build new buildings, resource plots and level them up. The game has several resources including food, wood, iron and clay. Food is the most important resource because it helps to feed your troops and is needed to level up buildings.
In the beginning it is a good idea to concentrate on just resource production and not military. You will get a short protection period before other players can attack you. There is a short tutorial that you can do that will teach you about the game and reward you with some resources. Once the tutorial is finished you can use the game manual to help you.
You should join an alliance as soon as possible so you can be protected from attacks and you can do this once you build the embassy building. The game features many different building including the barracks, market, hideout, cannon foundry, storage and foundry. Other building will unlock as you level up and will help you with your production levels. At your academy you can train new troop types so they are available in your barracks. Each of the three sides has different troops. For example, the Mexicans and Cowboys have cannons but the Indians have flaming arrow troops. The Cowboys and Mexicans have more gunpowder type troops. Each side also has a settler that can be used to colonize new towns but the settler is very expensive to build and will take lots of resources.
Game Play
Wild Guns is a fun browser game to play. You will find a good mix of troops to try out and the map and interface are well done. There is a large game community and many active alliances that you can join. The game manual is well done and the forums area good place to ask questions if you get stuck playing Wild Guns. The game is a good change of pace from fantasy and medieval games that are crowding the browser game market. The game play can be slow as you need to level up your buildings but once you get into the combat action it can be loads of fun. I can recommend Wild Guns to the strategy gamer who is looking for something different to play that isn't fantasy. Gameforge continues to develop and release fun browser games.
